RISH

I'm listening,
still.
I have found myself entangled in a perpetual dance with audio cables—winding, unwinding, running, and even leaping over them. In the midst of this choreography, I continue to refine my ability to truly listen.
After getting out of college with an audio engineering degree, I freelanced as a recording engineer, session musician, mix engineer, SFX editor, and foley artist in studios around Philadelphia and New York City (Mad Dragon Studios, Bad Dad Productions, Headroom Studios, and Rittenhouse Soundworks). Throughout this experience, I had been struggling with what it means to be an immigrant and artist in the US, and if at any point the puzzle pieces of my scattered identity would somehow fit.

After finding comfort in a remote job, I decided I had to move back to India. Now finding stable roots in Delhi, I have become deeply invested in community building around art practices and the intersections of tangential disciplines. I was no exception to an artistic burnout during art school, and I found that diving headfirst into new mediums of artistic expression was the way to rekindle my love for my personal practice. This drive opened up the world of photography, video editing, and filmmaking for me.
In the current state of my artistic journey, I am embarking on an exciting exploration of experimental electronic music, seeking to create a harmonious blend between two profound passions: sound synthesis and a fascination with the natural world. The realm of experimental electronic music appeals to me, particularly the captivating avenue of control voltages. This avenue liberates me from the confines of conventional musical harmony, propelling me into the realm between music and raw, queer, and wild sound. It's enthralling to discover that within this realm lies a symphony resonating with the echoes of deep jungles—the calls of insects, birdsong, rustling leaves, flowing water, and the whispering winds, encapsulating the essence of life itself.
